New Permanent Residence Scheme replacement released

Yesterday, after several months of debate and discussion the Permanent Resident Scheme was replaced with a High Net Worth individual scheme.  This new scheme has been created by the Finance Ministry to attract foreign investment but also entails individuals to contribute to the Economy by means of tax minimums and an increase of the minimum property price that one needs to spend to qualify to benefit from an advantageous tax rate. Off the press, New Permanent Residency Schemes close to approval

In what is probably the most talked about subject in the Malta real estate industry today we bring to you, according to reliable sources, the latest proposals that are being put forward to Parliament for approval regarding the newly refreshed Permanent Residency Scheme.

The Residence Scheme Regulations 2004, originally issued back in 1988, facilitated the entry and indefinite stay of foreigners wishing to enjoy a second or retirement home in sunny Malta. Relocating to Malta – Some info and facts you should know

MaltaIf you’ve just landed on Malta and are planning to stay here for quite a while, there are some basic things you need to know about if you’re intent on making the re-location transition smoother. Here is some basic help to guide you through the maze.

If you plan to work on Malta, you will need specific permits and papers to be regulated. You will need to be registered with the Employment and Training Corporation (ETC) which has a central office in Valletta from where you can get a great deal of related information. You might have to register with the VAT Department as well as get a working permit.
