Our Online Annual Convention

Malta’s leading real estate brand united the huge local team digitally to share last year’s highlights.

In a company first, this year’s RE/MAX Malta Annual Convention took place exclusively online, to overcome the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Held virtually on Wednesday 14 April 2021, the real estate giant invested heavily in the spectacular event to ensure that it maintained the exceptionally high standards associated with its highly anticipated Annual Convention.

A state-of-the-art set up

To create a virtual Annual Convention to the same high quality as previous editions, the set up included three cameras and a sound stage, with television-style production values and an expert filmmaking crew.

A team reunited and rewarded

While celebrating the achievements of the hundreds of local RE/MAX affiliates participating in the Convention, RE/MAX Malta CEO Jeffrey Buttigieg took the opportunity to thank the team for their extraordinary hard work and dedication in the face of adversity through the pandemic.

“We are proud to have yet again shown our resilience and determination by being one of the few real estate companies in Malta to host an Annual Convention against all the odds this year,” Jeffrey Buttigieg said during the event. “We have spared no expense in making sure that this online event is as celebratory and motivational for everyone on the RE/MAX Malta team, as they have come to expect from our Annual Convention. And the outstanding contribution of our managers, franchise owners, associates and staff deserves to be rewarded, now more than ever during these difficult times of the pandemic.”

A special host and motivational speakers

The RE/MAX Malta Annual Convention 2021 live stream was kick-started with a welcome by its special host, well-known DJ and expert business leader Gianni Zammit.

RE/MAX Malta Chairman Kevin Buttigieg then offered an inspiring and motivational opening speech, reiterating the company’s deep appreciation for the team’s commitment. “The COVID-19 situation has brought challenging times, but it has brought opportunity as well,” he shared in his speech. “The results prove that our industry has been very resilient, and I want to thank all of you who contribute and come up with new ideas every day to make this happen. We are creating a better industry for ourselves and our customers.”

The concept of resilience was continued by Jeffrey Buttigieg in his speech outlining the highlights of the year 2020, with General Manager Josie Theuma and Regional Letting Manager Edward Agius supporting with statistics related to sales and letting respectively. “One of the most exhausting aspects of this pandemic has been the new challenges it has brought every day, or a new hill to climb,” he recalled at the Convention. “But we didn’t buckle. We regrouped, discussed the strategy with franchise owners and managers and our trainers. We inspired each other, retrained, and bonded as a team.”

Accolades for RE/MAX Malta’s top achievers

Host Gianni Zammit offered a fun and entertaining segue, before the accomplishments of the best performers in Malta’s favourite real estate brand were celebrated.

As per its Annual Convention tradition, the company presented certificates to its top achievers, recognising their excellence across five different performance groups – Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond – in categories reflecting their individual fields of expertise.

A personal tribute to a valued team member

In an emotional interlude in the Convention’s programme, the RE/MAX Malta team surprised Office Manager Carmen Valletta with a unique message of appreciation for her contribution.

Through a carefully produced video of heartfelt tributes by various members of RE/MAX Malta team, Ms Valletta was thanked for her extraordinary work over the past year, during a time when her family faced serious health challenges.

Presentation of awards and trophies

The virtual RE/MAX Malta Convention 2021 closed in the same way as previous in-person editions: with nominees and winners across a series of prestigious company awards being presented with their trophies and prizes. This hotly anticipated custom took on an extra dimension of excitement due to the event being hosted online this year, as all nominees were invited to be physically present but had no prior knowledge of the winners.
