Fort Manoel, Malta – 19th July 2014 – RE/MAX Malta, the real estate company, marked their 10th anniversary by launching a charity foundation, namely RE/MAX and Friends Foundation. The company organised a two day charity event for children in aid of The Malta Community Chest Fund at the Pembroke Park and Ride and hosted a cocktail reception at “The Parade Ground”, Fort Manoel, Manoel Island.
During the two day RE/MAX Fun Fair event, the company created a fun park for children with the main attraction being Hot Air Balloon Rides, which is also the company’s iconic logo. Over 150 children managed to take a ride on the twenty-three metre balloon. Other rides included bouncy castles, mega slide, bungee run, go karts and gladiator duels. Other activities included face painting and balloon architecture. Speaking about the event Jeffrey Buttigieg, COO of RE/MAX Malta said “This is a dream come true for my brother and I together with the management team, especially Josie Theuma, our General Manager. Apart from setting-up the Foundation, a vehicle that has been created to enable us to donate proceeds to charity, with the help of the hot air balloon we have managed to create a fun environment where children and families enjoyed themselves.”
The fun fair was fully financed by RE/MAX Malta and all the proceeds were handed to The President of Malta, Her Excellency, Marie Louise Coleiro Preca at a cocktail reception held at the Parade Ground at Manoel Island, which saw over 1,200 guests attending. Entertainment included This.co Band, Ira Losco, DJ Ian Lang as well as Hungarian DJ, Seherezade.
Addressing the guests at the reception, Kevin Buttigieg, CEO of RE/MAX Malta thanked all those that supported the company over the past ten years and confirmed that the company will be opening two more offices in the next couple weeks. He said “It has been a long journey since my brother, father and I founded RE/MAX Malta with only four other affiliates amidst many doubters that said an International franchise wouldn’t work in Malta.” “Since then we have transformed the company from 6 affiliates to a company of over 220 people in 14 different offices.” “To celebrate our tenth anniversary I am proud to announce the launch of our FOUNDATION, which will receive funds from every sale, rental and event we will be organising. All the funds will be used to support disadvantaged children and youths.”
